Itinerary

Day 1
Dublin City Highlights

We start with a driven orientation of Dublin City followed by a visit to
view the world famous Book of Kells in Dublin’s Trinity College
University. We will then visit Kilmainham Jail where you can immerse
yourself in a piece of Irish history. After lunch we take you to the
Guinness Storehouse a true landmark of the city from where you can
see over Dublin’s magnificent skyline from the iconic rooftop Gravity Bar.

Day 2
Wicklow, the Garden of Ireland

We will spend the morning at Powerscourt House and Gardens (voted in the top three gardens in the world by National Geographic). After lunch we will go to the nearby Powerscourt Waterfall where you can breathe in the fresh country air and listen to the water cascading down to the rock pool below. Later, walk among treetops at Beyond the Trees and visit Avondale House. Finally we end the day exploring the magnificent monastic site of Glendalough founded by St. Kevin in the 6th century.

Day 3
Howth Head and Brú na Bóinne

We start at Howth Head for spectacular views over Dublin Bay and south as far as Wicklow Head and then northwards towards the Mountains of Mourne in County Down. Late morning, we explore Brú na Bóinne's iconic Newgrange. Older than the Egyptian pyramids and Stonehenge. Discover Ireland's Past and Present

Three Days of Dublin City and Beyond

Day 1

Certainly if you are staying in Dublin for a few days, use one day to see a few of the main attractions that this vibrant, cosmopolitan city has to offer.

We would recommend the Guinness Storehouse, Kilmainham Jail and Trinity College as definite go-to places to visit.

Our professional driver guide can collect you from your hotel and give you a comfortable driven orientation of Dublin City, bringing you directly to these memorable attractions and returning you to your hotel that evening from where you can sample the best cuisine and pub atmosphere locally.

Day 2

We would suggest heading south from Dublin City to the magnificent county of Wicklow, the Garden of Ireland. Here we have Powerscourt House and Gardens, voted in the top three gardens in the world by National Geographic. Spend a couple of hours here to explore the grounds and sample some tasty treats from their onsite restaurant.

Continue on then to the beautiful Powerscourt Waterfall nearby. Breathe in the fresh country air and listen to the sound of the birds and the water cascading down to the rock-pool below.

  • Then on to Beyond the Trees and Avondale House. At this new, state of the art attraction you can walk along the tree-tops and view the spectacular wooded countryside from a suspended 1.4km walkway over the tree canopy. You’ll find yourself surrounded by Yew, Larch, Oak, Spruce and also the magnificent Redwood. There are excellent food and coffee facilities onsite and not forgetting the beautiful Avondale House former home of the Irish Patriot Charles Stuart Parnell.

Or, perhaps Glendalough, the beautiful monastic settlement and round tower on the shore of the lake. You can see exactly why this very spot was chosen as a place of spirituality and learning by the ancient Irish monks led by St Kevin in the 6th century. Again there is an excellent centre on-site and all of this nestled beside the quaint village of the same name.

Afterwards a comfortable return to your hotel for after a great day out.

Day 3

We would suggest heading in the other direction - north. Head for the summit at Howth Head just outside Dublin City and get a spectacular view all the way south to Wicklow Head, Dublin Bay and around to the north towards the Mountains of Mourne, a view spanning five coastal counties.

Then leaving Dublin, we head to Brú na Bóinne where we have the iconic Newgrange with its 5000 year old stone age passage tomb. A structure that is older than the Egyptian Pyramids. Here on the morning of the Winter Solstice the sunlight creeps its way up from the entrance of the tomb along a 19m passage to a central ancient burial chamber.

  • There is an excellent interpretative centre and guided tours as part of the experience.

Time permitting there are also the nearby sites of Mellifont Abbey and Monasterboice where you can see one of the best examples of Celtic crosses anywhere in Ireland.

As another option, there is the beautiful Slane Castle and Whiskey Distillery nearby. This is home of the Conyngham Family since 1703 and is also where, each year it is transformed into one of the most iconic concert venues in the world. Acts such as U2, The Rolling Stones, Queen, Guns and Roses, Bob Dylan, David Bowie, Bruce Springsteen and more recently Harry Stiles have played in front of an audience of 80,000 people. A private tour of the castle and distillery can be arranged.
